StarSkew Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the StarSkew browser extension and the related website and backend services (collectively, the "Service"). The Service is operated by Larkspur Peak Holdings LLC, a Colorado limited liability company, doing business as StarSkew ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. What StarSkew does

StarSkew displays an informational badge on Amazon product pages that estimates, from publicly displayed rating data, whether a product's reviews show statistical patterns sometimes associated with inflated or incentivized reviews. The badge is a statistical estimate and opinion based on public data — it is not a statement of fact about any seller or product, and it is not proof of fraud, manipulation, or any wrongdoing.

You are responsible for your own purchasing decisions. The Service is one input among many and should not be relied on as the sole basis for any decision.

2. Not affiliated with Amazon

StarSkew is an independent tool. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or in any way officially connected to Amazon.com, Inc. or any of its subsidiaries or affiliates. "Amazon" and all related marks are trademarks of their respective owners. References to Amazon are for identification and descriptive purposes only.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the Service in violation of any applicable law or the terms of any third-party website (including Amazon's Conditions of Use);
• attempt to disrupt, overload, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the Service or its backend;
• use the Service to harass, defame, or harm any seller, manufacturer, or other person; or
• resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit the Service or its output without our written permission.

4. No warranty

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION ANY IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the badge or any assessment is accurate, complete, current, or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or available.

5. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL LARKSPUR PEAK HOLDINGS LLC OR ITS MEMBERS, OFFICERS, OR AGENTS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR PURCHASING DECISIONS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF (OR INABILITY TO USE) THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL AGGREGATE LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of the above may not apply to you.

6. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Larkspur Peak Holdings LLC and its members, officers, and agents from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

7. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and content (excluding third-party data displayed on the pages you visit), is owned by Larkspur Peak Holdings LLC and protected by intellectual-property laws. The source code may be made available under a separate open-source license; where it is, that license governs your use of the code itself, and these Terms govern your use of the hosted Service.

8. Third-party content and data

The Service reads and displays rating information from third-party websites you visit (such as Amazon). We do not control and are not responsible for that third-party content, and your use of those websites is governed by their own terms.

9. Changes to the Service and these Terms

We may modify or discontinue the Service, and we may update these Terms, at any time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above and, where appropriate, noting the change in the extension's store listing. Your continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

10. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the extension. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service at our discretion, including for violation of these Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. The exclusive venue for any dispute is the state or federal courts located in Colorado, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
